Carport Designs
Carport main function is as a place for a car to take shelter. But can also be useful to increase the value of home display.
Generally, carports do not need building regulations approval as long as they are open on two or more sides and cover an area of less than 30 square meters. Therefore, carport is directly visible from the main street. An attractive carport design plays an important role in creating a beautiful element on the house fa?ade.
When making a carport, choose a design that is simple. Avoid complex design because you simply don?t need it. The important thing is that a carport should have a maximal function and match in accordance with the house display.
We will show five examples of carport designs that you can apply at home.
1. Floating with cantilever - Carport measuring 5.8 mx7, 2m. Roof size is 3mx5, 7m. Cantilever system makes the carport roof seems floating. Cantilever roof needs only four pieces of steel block. Put each beam straight up and make distance of 1.8 m. The roof is made of steel frames. Make the roof using a grid pattern with a lattice of wood. Later on, you could fill the lattice with the type of Mandeville plant (similar to Alamanda).
2. Roof and balcony as a shelter ? Again, this is a cantilever based construction. The main frame structure consists of eight concrete blocks. The length of each beam is 3m, and is prepared 35cm in distant from each other. At the top of the range of concrete blocks, lie down a solid wood of 15.8 square meters. Make sure the top of the carport located in front of any door on second floor. From there, the top of the carport is accessible as a balcony. So, besides acts as a shelter, it also functions as a balcony.
3. Simple roof drawn wire ? The main based structure is only a square piece of an iron on the right side of the roof. As a brace, install both steel wires crossing to each other as a shape of x. Attach the end of both edges to the main building and the other two edges point to the front of the roof frame. The framework of the roof is using only a square piece of hollow iron with a measurement of 4cmx5cm. This kind of structure creates a simple impression on the building.
4. Flat roof black iron ? The front of the roof structure does not have a ground support, so it creates a floating looks. Instead of using any ground support, attach both 12mm steel wires to the main building. Choose polycarbonate materials to cover the hollow metal frame. To be unique, the framework is structured with a grid pattern.
5. Attached simple structure ? Besides a shelter, carport also functions as the entrance. The design is recognized from its simple structure. The front is supported by two concrete blocks and the back is attached to the main building. As the roof, you can install wood lattice in transverse. To have the unique look, you can add some plants on it.
